Ahhh finally a new outfit post! The other night we went out to Leederville for dinner and I put together this outfit which I adore - how can you not love an outfit when your pants are snazzy vintage culottes?

Hi all! It is a little over two weeks since my birthday now and I finally have some free time to write up the rest of this blog post. After my birthday things were a little chaotic to say the least, just a handy tip for future Jess and to anyone else reading, when you have 4 assignments to do over the holidays please try your best to not leave them all to the last day, you can even try to type up a bit of that lit essay whilst simultaneously watching that new show with Hillary Duff in it, just don't leave it to the last day ok.

Irresistible Me Sapphire 8 in 1 Complete Curling Wand Review | acupofjessicatedcoconut
Today I did a full trial of my hair, makeup and outfit for my ball on Friday (ahhhhhh) and I thought I'd share a little preview of the finished hair and makeup look. I am planning on filming a whole get ready with me type video of the entire ball day from when I wake up to when I leave the house so look forward to that in the next few weeks depending on how long it takes for me to edit! As for the outfit, a full post on my dress and how I got my dress will be up a week after my ball.
For hair, I'm going for old hollywood glam curls which I achieved using my new 'Irresistable Me Sapphire 8 in 1 Complete Curling Wand' which I will have a whole post on soon! In terms of makeup, I'm going for a dramatic matte eye look with a pop of warm brown in the crease and on the lower lashline.
What kind of makeup look are you guys planning on wearing to prom? And if you've already had your prom, what kind of makeup look did you go for?

This summer I went to the beach a lot because Bodhi really loves the beach and seeing Bodhi at the beach is one of my favourite feelings ever. Anyway, I will have a post up sometime of a day at the beach with Bodhi, but for the meantime I thought I'd share a beach day outfit post. I paired this gorgeous crochet crop top with a vintage floral maxi skirt that my mum used to wear in the 90's. Outfits like these are just so comfortable and fun at the same time so it's a win win situation.
Top - Bali
Skirt - Vintage (from my mum!)
Hope you are all having a good start to the week,

Self Acceptance, Learning to Love Yourself and The Selfie Debate | Happy International Women's Day ❤
Happy International Women's Day to all the beautiful women of the world!
Today I wanted to tell all the women reading this that you are all so beautiful. And I know that sometimes it's really difficult to love the body we have, and love the little flaws about ourselves but you are really all so wonderful and it's our flaws that ultimately make us into the wonderful, unique, majestic creatures we are. So love your flaws, love your hormonal skin that breaks out at any glimpse of stress, love your long legs, love your short legs, love your thighs, love your bellies, love your arms, love yourself. After all, our bodies spend their entire lives loving us, it's about time we loved them back. Your skin heals after it is damaged, your hair grows back after it is cut, your body loves you so much and protects you. So love your body back and love yourself because you are worth more than you could ever imagine.
In celebration of international women's day, i shot a few self portraits and filtered through all the shots to find the ones that I was happy with. On the topic of self portraits and images of one self in general, it's too often that I see women and girls around me get made fun of, or discouraged because of the new era of selfies - why not celebrate it? Why not celebrate self appreciation, your bodies are art and if you want to take a selfie, take a god damn selfie. I saw this quote the other day and thought it summed up my feelings towards this pretty damn well.
"November 19th, 2013,‘Selfie’ was named the Word of the Year by the Oxford DictionaryPseudo-intellectuals everywhere cried about the ‘death of the English language’Because God forbid modern colloquial speech be recognised as valid.Time Magazine refers to ‘millenials’ as the ‘me me me generation’Selfish, all we care about is personal gratificationLazy, entitled, shallow narcissists.A picture of a girl taking a selfie on her phone is used for the coverBecause our selfishness can be summed up in the fact that we like how we look enough to document it.We are consumed, they tell us, with our self image.Everything is about us.Me-me-me.With the addition of every word to the dictionary,‘Hashtag’. ‘Perf’. ‘Sexting’. ‘Totes’. ‘Selfie’,The ‘me-me-me’ generation continues to make it all about ourselves,And we should, they tell us, weep, We should weep because we are entitled,Because all we care about are selfies and parties and Instagram,Because this is the generation that will one day run the world,And for that, we should weep, Because all we are is ‘me-me-me’.Let me tell you something.Every year, university tuition will be 2.3% more expensive for MY GENERATION,MY GENERATION reports the highest levels of anxiety and depression than ANY other generation,15% more of US than YOU will go to university, But 46% of MY GENERATION won’t find a job until over a year after law school,MY GENERATION, on average, is $47,628 in debt.58% of girls in MY GENERATION feels like they are the wrong weight,95% of people with eating disorders are part of MY GENERATION,And MY GENERATION has a million dollar industry telling us that we are not good enough,That we are ugly, lazy, and entitled,And anything we do to be financially successful, Or less stressed,Or beautiful, god dammit,Is in vain.So pick up your phone,Pick your favourite filter,And take a goddamn selfie. You deserve it for having to grow up in these times. I found this incredible Finders Keepers dress at the markets a few weeks back for only $5 and was excited to feature this on my blog. I love the shoulder cut outs and the arched cut out which is surprisingly very flattering and adds a lot to this dress. Along with that, the dress has a high low hemline which elongates the legs and adds a bit of height to your look, which I always appreciate as I'm preeetty short for my age. The back of the dress has a delicate little caged detail on either side which softens up the look a little bit and who doesnt love a little bit of back detail amirite? I styled this dress with my super old heeled boots from Sportsgirl to add to the edginess of the outfit however it can be styled down with some basic black heeled sandals!

First of all - I apologize for my sudden absence in the last week. School got very hectic and I am being overloaded with tests and assessments all at once however on the plus side, I am halfway through my first term back so soon I'll get two weeks off to focus on blogging!
A few weeks ago, I was fortunate enough to be sent this INCREDIBLE 'Must Have Professional Brush Set' by the wonderful people over at Furless Cosmetics. This is not my first time trying Furless products as I have been a big fan of their cruelty free and vegan friendly beauty products for quite some time so I was super excited to be able to try this brush set out. It retails online for $149.95 and the brushes come in a handy little brush apron that is perfect for travelling or if you do freelance makeup.
(ps: all the brushes in the set are available for individual purchase - just click on the names of each brush for a direct link to that individual brush)
